Default Divorce rate up due to 48/96?

Has anyone seen any information regarding a spike in divorce rate due this schedule?

It's hard spending four days home with the wife. I need to find a part time job.

I was out on injury for seven months. I narrowly escaped being murdered in my sleep.

Wife Loves when I'm away for 48 hours. I have to pick up OT during my 96 for both our safety. Doubt the divorce rate will spike, but it depends on department, person, and family.

This whole idea seems weird. If people are getting divorced due to the 48/96 schedule, they probably had other problems to begin with.......

Agreed. If youre getting divorced over a work schedule, you have other deep issues.

There should be a thread on firefighter divorce as its crazy to watch co-workers go through it and hear the stories. Definitely learned one thing- Always get a pre-nup, for sure.

I'm lucky. My wife worked ambulance on the fire schedule and knows what it's all about. I hear a lot of these stories and it's usually where wives can't wrap their heads around a 24 hour shift.

Like, he's gone all the time! I just don't get it!!

It does take a special lady to deal with our schedules. If you have a family, she is basically a single mom until you get home. Not all women can deal with having their husband gone for up to 96hrs, dealing with the kids, things breaking, etc.

My wife has the hardest job known to mankind... That why she gets the full ride scholarship. God knows I couldn't do.
