Default LODD - Prescott Granite Mountain Hot Shots

I knows this isn't CA but tragic none the less.

Be safe out there. This summer is going to be nutty.

RIP

No, you are absolutely right to share this news here. California's firefighters of course support our Arizona brothers.

RIP brothers.

One of the brothers is from Southern California. We are both alumni from El Camino. I am really sad that I lost a brother from same academy. He was a nice kid from the people I spoke to, funny and was a wildland guy.

Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue.
But never forget to remember
Those that have stuck by you

It's extremely surreal to have a state park and a motion picture both made in honor of the crew. 🙏 The @onlythebravemovie may be based on their true heroic events, but when you hike the @azstateparks trail yourself in Yarnell you feel a real connection to the day they perished. You feel the dirt, smell the air, see the tangled rocks and brush.. 🍃 It's bittersweet to watch people start the memorial hike. We all miss his laughing smile, and would trade the world to have him back.🔄 But we find some solace in permanent marks left for others to learn from their tragedy. ✔ Check out the hike if you can, so much info is provided there to educate yourself on the events and day of their untimely end; plus awesome photos of the men, and bios about them along the trail leading to their final resting site. 🇺🇸 It is emotional and physically tiring, but putting reality to the big screen is worth the homage. When passing through town, we always stop in the parking lot even if we don't hike, just to have a moment and breathe in the air. 🌄
