The beast job I had but didn't realize it at the time was as an Engineer. Acquired a real interest in fire apparatus during that period. Had both "E-66" and 900 Seagrave; Howe Custom Defender, Van Pelt custom, Crown, Pierce and Coast apparatus. I even worked on military rigs and was on the tailboard of 43 Studebaker 6 X 6. Some great adventures plus lots of challenges. I worked on one fire where I was drafting out a Canal for over 2 days.
